What is Spyware and Why Should I Worry about It?

Spyware, also called malware, is installed on computers generally without your knowledge. This software collects personal information about the computer users and can interfere with your computer by redirecting you to other sites, installing additional software, hijacking your home and search pages, and change your computer settings, which can lead to slower connections to the internet, reduced computer speed, and loss of functionality of computer hardware and/or software. In addition, spyware can be used to send your personal information to others without your knowledge. Removing spyware, and keeping it from being installed in the future, will lead to a faster and more stable computer.
